Cell Projects

 

Due Date: March 15, 2017

 

Overview: Students were presented with 8 options to choose from. The value of each project was 25, 50 or 75 points. Students were to do as many projects it took to add up to 100 points.  

 

Skills Tested On: We were tested on our research skills and the ability to comprehend cells. For the cell model, you were tested on your comprehension of the structure of a cell. In the brochure, you were tested on your knowledge of the cell theory and the structure and function of a microscope. In the test, you were tested on the ability to come up with questions of different level ranges.

 

Reflection: This project aided in improving my understanding of cells. I was able to go more in depth of the cell theory and how it works. Researching the functions of a microscope gave me an advantage in the class because I knew how the microscope worked ahead of time. Therefore I was not confused when using one.  Building a cell model also aided in the comprehension of how a cell was structured. I had to learn what the function of most of the organelles in a cell. One thing I could have don better in the projects was to find a shape that represented the cell better. I tried to change the shape of the cell but still the shape was a bit inaccurate.
